Roberto Báez

Several weeks after graduation in June '77, my family and I moved to the Dominican Republic. Upon graduating HS in Santo Domingo in '80, I returned to NYC and took a job as a Security Guard at City College. I did that for about a month then moved on to another company called Healthco Dental. Eventually, I was promoted to Assistant Equipment Manager.

During this time, I became a photographer for Latin NY Magazine. I worked extensively within the Latin Music area, working with people and bands like Willie Colón, Rubén Blades, Manny Oquendo's Conjunto Libre, Eddie Palmieri, Oscar De León, and many others. I was published in Latin NY Magazine, Billboard En Español and several other publications. I also had my pictures on several record album covers.

After being in the dental equipment sales field for a few years, I took a position with Xerox Corporation as a sales rep. in 1987. The following year, I married a woman that I had been dating for several years and moved to New Jersey. I was promoted through the ranks at Xerox and finally left in 1997, when I accepted a position as Manager of Sales and Marketing, Latin America for another copier company called Kyocera Mita. This was a short-lived situation, however, because I subsequently was offered the position of Director of Sales and Marketing, Latin America for the company the manufactures the hologram on your credit cards.

In May 1996, I received a B.S. in Business degree with concentrations in Management & Marketing. I graduated Cum Laude and with honors. This was a very proud moment for me.Two years later (1998), my wife and I were blessed with the birth of our son, Andy. He is the pride and joy of my life, and my biggest inspiration.

In January 2000, I became a Major Account Sales Manager for Ricoh Corp. A position I held until October 2001, when I was offered, and accepted, the position of Vice President of Sales Development and Marketing for a company called Connecticut Business Systems. The economy being what it is in this modern day, in February 2003, I joined a company called Imagistics as their Branch Manager in White Plains, NY.

Nowadays, my wife Helen and son Andy are back in NJ. I recently "hooked-up" with my old (and I mean old) friends from Booker T and PS 165. This has been an amazing experience, and one that I believe was our destiny. Reliving old times with childhood friends has been an experience that I would have never thought would've taken place. This is great and I hope you can enjoy this as much as we are. I hope to hear from you soon (just click on my name, above). Hasta luego.
