Allen Urkowitz
I retired in 2001, from Booker T. after 33 wonderfully fulfilling years. I had been an 8th grade honors humanities teacher and business manager of the school. I then went towork in the private sector working as Board of Education liaison for a non-profit organization. Unfortunately, I was at "Ground Zero" when the WTC attacks happened on 9/11! After four months of stress, I left corporate and took some time to "smell the roses," and enjoy life.I then returned to my real passion-education. I now have a consulting business where I help companies, school districts, non-profits negotiate the maize that is known as the Department of Education. I live in Bergen County, NJ for the past 23 years with my wife of almost 27 years. My daughter who is 24, works in advertising as a media buyer, and my son who is almost 20 years old, is a sophomore at college in the Boston area.
Booker T. and its students will always have a special place in my heart!
Thanks so much,
Allen
